Redbird Room

Redbird Room

The Redbird Room is home to our children from approximately 16 months to 2 years old. The Toddlers are walking, expanding their verbal skills, and are experiencing group play time as well as individual play time. Your children will have fun with the activities our teachers prepare to help toddlers achieve the developmental milestones at this age level. These milestones include self awareness, verbal expressions, gross motor skill development, and autonomy.

A typical day would begin with a home-cooked breakfast prepared on-site by our cook. After breakfast, there is a free play time where the children can choose to play with puzzles, building blocks, dress-up activities, or simply read a book by themselves.

The teacher will then gather the children for a group activity that may be an art project, a science experiment, an outdoor game, songs, or perhaps a puppet show. At this time of the day, the children are learning to participate in a group and how to interact with their peers. After group time, the class will go outside on the toddler playground or in the backyard for some outdoor fun. Lunch is served around 11:00 followed by nap time. The afternoon allows time for more group activities and individual play time, as well as more outdoor time, weather permitting. Your child’s day will be full of fun, learning activities.
